ProtectionPAC software simplifies set-up and administration by offering the option to manage the appliance as virtual devices rather than managing physical RAID sets and disk volumes. Each REO appliance can be configured with up to 64 virtual storage devices, which can be any mix of virtual tapes and disks. Multi-SitePAC remote data backup software automates the manual process of protecting remote data—without requiring changes to your existing data backup solutions or software. Multi-SitePAC seamlessly transfers backup data in virtual tape format from a remote REO to a central REO, where it can be consolidated, managed and archived.

At each remote location, the backup software transfers backup data to the REO with Multi-SitePAC, where it is stored in virtual tape format. Then, at a user-determined time, the Multi-SitePAC software automatically mirrors the data to the central REO. After the data is received, the backup software can optionally move it from the central REO to a tape device offering secure d2d2t storage for long-term archival.
